Hot take – LLMs are great for mental health and self-care stuff. I'm not prone to feeling sad or anxious, but when I need to sort of shout into the void and get some impartial feedback, it's easy to just text GPT. It's a strange form of journaling, maybe.

Durch geringere Abgaben der Firmen. Durch Dumping in Form von Zwangsarbeit. Durch Druck auf alle Arbeitenden.
„Entweder Lohnzurückhaltung, oder Entrechtung und Zwangsarbeit (die uns eh am Liebsten wäre)!“
Höhere Kleinkriminalität wird in Kauf genommen. Lohndumping in Gefängnissen gibt es längst.

It is so taboo that I wonder if Democratic strategists realize that talk about Biden’s age is a euphemism for saying that some voters would do anything to prevent a black woman from being a frail heartbeat away from the presidency. Maybe it’s strategically smart not to address this head on, I’m not sure.

This was a notable comment because Richardson follows all the major political stories from the perspective of a political historian, and she has been doing so for years.

This should be a viral national story in #US. After this team unanimously unionized, Google refused to come to the bargaining table.
A resolution supporting the workers was brought to the city council. The day the workers showed up to testify on the resolution, Google laid off the entire team.
This was the precise instant when YouTube Music employees became aware that we had lost our jobs, as we were addressing the City Council.

We are hesitant to grant non-human animals even the tiniest bit of linguistic capacities, and over-eager to ascribe mastery of language to computers. Why? One reason is the Cartesian history of linguistics and AI: a mentalist-rationalist project that sees language as an abstract symbol system and the mind as an abstract symbol manipulator.
